Shawnee County, Kansas Warrant Search

Shawnee County warrants are subject to the Kansas Open Records Act (KORA), K.S.A. §45-215 et seq. As a result, warrants are considered public, with certain exceptions. Generally, disclosing that a warrant has been applied for or issued and revealing the contents of an unexecuted warrant’s supporting affidavit or testimony is considered criminal disclosure of a warrant, classified as a class B non-person misdemeanor under K.S.A. § 21-5906.

Record seekers may conduct a Shawnee County warrant search through the county Sheriff’s Warrant Search Portal. They may also use the Kansas District Court Public Access portal to access court records of cases handled by Shawnee County District Court and review them for information about warrants issued in relevant cases. Public terminals are also available at local courthouses that individuals may use to access and review court records for warrants. Interested persons may also request court records directly from the courthouse clerk’s office for a fee.
